This work was created for my university course. The requirements were that it involved wask casts and was based on our individual fears. I decided to base mine around being literally trapped in my own head - something that had come up for various reasons in my life. The piece has a light inside of it, the majority of it being hollow, as is displayed in the above images.

I absolutely loved the textures and imperfections of the wax, and tried to bring them out when possible. To create the structure, I took a cast of a mannequin head and also one of my face, fusing them together with to form the distorted "mask-like" look. I wish I was more able to share all the little details in this and may end up adding some larger images if I decide these don't do it justice.

A few shots of the back. The figure is made with polymer clay and inset into a carved out hollow of the wax.
