Long
ago in ages past
A young knight met his destiny
Amid the ancient forest depths
That hold their secrets silently
He’d been sent out
by his lord
To solve a pressing mystery
That plagued the people living there
And brought them pain and misery
So he traveled night
and day
Garbed in his finest livery
To try and find whatever source
Had caused this great audacity
A fortnight did he
journey to
Where his future waits uncertainly
And the brave knight carried forth
Towards his fate unknowingly
He found the creature
in its lair
Where it regarded him uncaringly
That was until the faithful knight
Charged into battle daringly
He speared the creature
through the chest
With a swift blow made unerringly
But as the creature died he dealt
A wound that bled so horribly
So there it was that
both did die
Under the golden autumn majesty
And there their bodies lay untouched
No soul to ever know this travesty
