The assignment was based around recent books that we had read. I chose An Anthropologist on Mars, a book about the mind and its mysteries, told in seven personal accounts by the author. Its rather good, and I do reccomend it. Anyway, I made this lamp to sort of represent the literal act of revelation, or "turning on the light". The brain is made in Sculpey clay, set in resin. The text is from the book itself, which I typeset. Sorry I don't have any better pictures of it off, maybe I will take some more at a later point. Its hard to get a good grasp of it in photos anyway. I wish I was more capable of sharing all its subtleties.
